Thoughts about life under lockdown | Kirkby on Bain. By JILL RUSSELL, May 2020
I would like first to express my horror and sorrow for all those people who have lost their lives and continue to do so to this horrendous virus, for which, as a country we were so ill prepared: also, to those grieving families who have lost so much and those struggling in difficult, challenging circumstances in lockdown.
As a family last year, pre virus, we had our share of tragedy with our grandson, Wren, being stillborn on 1st Jan 2019. Then, in contrast this year, during this lockdown on April 17th , we had the joyful news that Wren’s brother, Rufus Max Russell, had arrived safely and successfully into the world. Despite all the problems our son Hugo and partner Faye were cared for so well by the Jessop Hospital and we give thanks to the dedicated staff in Sheffield. His arrival has brought us so much happiness and lifted our hearts and spirits and we look forward to when we can meet him in person.
We are so fortunate to be in lockdown in a place such as Kirkby on Bain and we are so thankful for that. Continue reading →
