Road closures: Kirkby Lane and Woodhall Spa

Roads in Woodhall Spa and part of Kirkby Lane are scheduled for temporary closure:

The works are expected to last for six weeks, subject to suitable weather. The first week of works, from Monday 22 October to Friday 26 October, will be carried out under temporary traffic signals from 8am to 8pm.

The remainder of the project, which includes approximately four days of resurfacing works on Kirkby Lane and approximately two days of resurfacing on Iddesleigh Road, will be carried out under a full road closure of the B1191 and Kirkby Lane from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday.

Temporary two-way traffic signals will also be in use from 10am to 6pm to allow works to be carried out on the following Saturdays: 27 October, 3 November, 10 November and 17 November. Full details here Continue reading

Impact of the Part Night Street Lighting Policy

In April 2016, the County Council began a street light transformation programme, in a bid to save £1.7m per year from the £5m annual street lighting budget. As a result of the   changes, around 42,000 streetlights, mainly in residential areas, are now switched off between midnight and 6am.

A scrutiny panel of councillors is now carrying out a formal review into the impact of part
night lighting, looking at topics including the environment, crime rates, fears about safety and crime, emergency services, health and public health services, the impact on businesses and the night-time economy. Continue reading

Parish Council Meeting, September 2017: Update

A scheduled meeting of the Council was held on Thursday July 6th, in the Primary School Hall, Wharf Lane, Kirkby on Bain, starting at 7.00 pm.

Two members of the public attended, and Lincolnshire County Councillor Bradwell, was able to offer useful advice and information during the meeting.

At the public forum resident Tessa Tucker expressed her concerns about the increase in HGV traffic through village. Continue reading
