The coffee morning held at Roughton Parish Hall last Saturday (26th November) was a great success, raising a total of £500 before costs in aid of St. Margaret’s Church Roughton and St Mary’s Church Kirkby-on-Bain. The organisers would like to thank all those who came along, contributors of produce and prizes and the support team on the day.

Think of England. In the summer of 1943 Bett and Vera traveled the country hosting tea dances for RAF fighter pilots stationed nearby. They’re back, (Bett and Vera that is) so join them at Minting Village Hall for a 1940s experience. Continue reading

Coffee morning raises £205 for our church

Last Saturday, 19th March, we had a very successful coffee morning in Roughton Village Hall with a raffle, tombola, cake stalls, mystery parcels, bric-a-brac and a hand-crafted card stall.

It was lovely to see so many people catching up with friends and enjoying a cup of tea or coffee with a biscuit. We raised £410 which will be shared between Roughton and Kirkby on Bain Churches, helping towards much needed repairs. Previous post

Even though it’s the low season just now and we all need a good reason for venturing out, my more-or-less monthly notice board trawl has yielded some interesting results:

 

 

Organist Paul Carman is the featured entertainer at Music For Woodhall on January 19th at 7.30 pm, in St Peter’s Church Hall. Tickets are available from Philip Groves, 01526 353225, and they are priced at £5 for members, £7 for non-members. More information from the Horncastle News.
