As part of their Walking Wednesday, pupils from Kirkby on Bain Nursery can be seen collecting litter from around the village footpaths for safe disposal, rubbish that has been carelessly discarded, dropped or blown from traffic en route through the village.
These children are showing us the way to be environmentally aware and for them it’s a win-win situation. Not only are they enjoying walking out in the fresh air but also they are making Kirkby on Bain a tidier place for everyone to live and learn. Well done to The Nursery!

Acting Chairman Councillor Penny Stones welcomed Councillors and five members of the public who came along to this meeting, held in the School Hall last Thursday evening. At the public forum held before official business a resident who lives on Main Street raised again her concerns regarding lorries passing through the village, and enquired about the progress of communication with the gravel company (Aggregate Industries, Woodhall Spa Quarry). The next Meeting of the Council will be held on Thursday July 6th in the Primary School Hall, Wharf Lane, Kirkby on Bain, starting at 7.00 pm. As usual we will start with a public forum so if you would like to discuss any local matter you are concerned about, please do come along and have your say!
