Annual Parish Meeting 2018

After the Primary School choir got us in the groove with three songs, Alwyn Killingsworth spoke about the forthcoming Heritage Weekend which this year would be tied in with the Open Church Weekend on 8/9 September.

Councillor Pat Tartellin then talked about a new programme of Kirkby on Bain walks organised by herself and Councillor Penny Stones. Pat also said she was hoping to get Kirkby on Bain included in the Wolds Walking Festival and although too late for this year, she was optimistic for next year.

After a refreshment break during which we were invited to sample biscuits and vote in the ‘Bake a Biscuit’ competition, keynote speaker Eran Bauer gave a fascinating talk about the recent mustard gas major incident in Kirkby Lane which attracted so much national media attention at the time.
