“The Polish Air Force in Lincolnshire” – Why did Poles come to Britain at the start of WWII? How did they get here and why were they in Lincolnshire? The Polish forces were the largest allied force working with the British until the arrival of the Americans in WWII. This talk will be given by Michael Czakowski, whose father was in the Polish Airforce, and will explain why and how they got here, will look at representative Polish squadrons based in Lincolnshire and what happened at the end of the war. Come along to the Rotary Club of Horncastle’s Senior Citizens’ Concert. It’s at Banovallum School in Boston Road from 2 to 4.30pm, and attractions include the Horncastle Ukelele Band, Horncastle Community Choir and the Julie Deane dancers. Don’t miss the traditional Woodhall Spa Christmas Market, presented by once again by the Rotary Club of Woodhall Spa, from 6 to 9 pm. Once again the village will turn out for late night shopping and dining, Santa’s grotto, raffle – to mention but a few attractions. Free car parking at Jubilee Park. The parade starts at 6pm.
