This year’s festival is on the 15th May 2016 and includes Men’s and Women’s British Cycling Elite Series road races. With less than a week to go plans for the 61st Lincoln Grand Prix and the first ever Women’s Lincoln Grand Prix are being finalised as the pre-race excitement builds.

The fields have been confirmed for both races, with the Men’s race being headed up by four-time winner Russell Downing from JLT Condor, who is aiming for a record breaking fifth win, one ahead of Paul Curran who won four editions between 1986 and 1991. Details here. The Women’s Grand Prix field has been heralded as the best field assembled for a UK Women’s National Series Race, so you can expect a fantastic first edition! Details here.

Both races will start in the Castle Square this year and have equal prize money.

British Cycling will once again be running some children’s races in the Castle Square during the early laps of the Women’s Grand Prix so there will be plenty to watch through the day.

The Grand Prix winners will also be given the first editions of our unique cobble stone trophy. These trophies have been hand-made by Frontrunner in Lincoln from granite cobbles sponsored by Steve Poole Plant Hire and have proved a huge favourite with the riders and is an added incentive for them when tackling the 1 in 6 cobbled Michaelgate climb repeatedly throughout the day.

For those travelling on the day to see the race, you can find the easiest ways to get close to the race here

Our free bike park will be back again this year so those who want to ride over to watch the race thanks to 360 Scaffolding who are providing some great new bike racks.

For 2016 the race programmes will be free, thanks to DPS Digital, we have a number of marshals handing them out around Castle Square, Bailgate & Michaelgate.

Finally and most importantly we must thank our sponsors, without them there would be no Lincoln Grand Prix!
